Through the interaction of scientific research and educational services, guided by the needs of the environment and the user, University of Gorazde will provide a broad, flexible range of high-quality programs relating to undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in creating a dynamic learning community that is focused on continuous quality improvement .
The University is focused on the promotion of economic progress, both individuals and society as a whole. At the same time, the University will provide students an intellectual and professional training, contributing to the strengthening of an innovative environment and the development of the business climate. The special mission of universities is to promote multiculturalism and regionalism within the institutional framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a special political-territorial units, as well as research, improvement and promotion of the economic potential of the Drina River.
The International University of Goražde (IUG) is a private university located in the city of Goražde, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The university was established by Edina Brutus and Dr. Emir Duranović. IUG is open to students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and all over the Levant and Middle East. and the language of instruction and communication is English. It offers education according to Bologna system ( I. cycle, II. cycle and III. cycle diplomas).
IUG has 149 students on 4 Faculties and 15 Departments performing academic activities in disciplines of Science, Engineering, and Social Sciences. First generation of students was enrole on IUG in academic year 2014/2015.
The university has only an Executive Board. The Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmed Avdagić, was born in Potočari (Srebrenica). He was a student on the Faculty of Political Sciences-FPN in University of Sarajevo, where he completed his master and doctoral degrees. He is married and has 6 children. Other main faculty at the IUG are: Dean Dr. Muhamed Suljić (Faculty of Medical Sciences-FZN), Prof. Dr. Snežana Komatina (Faculty of Technical Sciences-FTN), Dr. Elvira Čekić (Faculty of Educational Sciences-FEN) and Prof. Dr. Vladimir Stojanović (Faculty of Social Sciences-FDN).
